I reimagined the design of one of the earliest forms of animation: a praxinoscope. This device uses a strip of pictures placed in an outer cylinder surrounding a circle of mirrors. When the viewer looks into a mirror and spins the device the pictures come to life. I’ve taken the fundamentals of the praxinoscope device and modernized its appearance, making it a perfectly unique decor item that can zhuzh up any coffee table, desk, or bedside table.
